Foreign Power of Attorney
Power of Attorney (POA) enables the applicant living abroad to appoint a person or organization from abroad to manage his/her property or affairs in Bangladesh. POA executant(s) and recipient(s) MUST read ‘Power of Attorney Act-2015’ carefully prior to initiating the application process.
Required Documents for POA
i) Valid Bangladesh Passport/(Application for Passport will suffice) of the Executant(s).
ii) Photo ID (Passport/PR card/Study Permit/Work Permit/Driver’s License) of the Executant(s).
iii) Valid Bangladesh Passport/National ID/17-digit Birth Certificate of the Recipient.
iv) Photograph (not older than 6 months) of the Executant(s) and Recipient(s).
v) Copy of ownership documents (Khatian/Tax document/Mutation/copy of the main deed) of the property or affairs to be given.
vi) If the Executant(s) does not own the property or his/her name is not reflected (written) in the ownership document, the Executant(s) should submit/send Succession Certificate to prove his/her inheritance to the property.
